Hudson said that playing the angel was the toughest part of the show for her, because "the tail keeps wanting to come out." She added to the Fallen Angel's line "You shouldn't trust me, Gabrielle" with "Because I'll eat your face!" Her favorite moment was playing the demon perched on the rock.
Hudson's parents were in the crowd, and we learned where Hudson got some of her performance genes from.
Hudson had her usual fun working the crowd into a lather, like when she curled on the stage with her legs a little too far apart, then when she realized it, declaring "Now they all know what color my hair really is." The crowd nearly fell on the floor in unison.

 Warrior of the Soul
At this afternoon's photo shoot I quickly learn that the real Hudson Leick is more inclined to devour "an avocado-tofu-cucumber-bean sprout pit sandwich with mustard instead of mayo." Like her Amazonian alter-ego, Hudson Leick is a woman who knows what she wants and knows how to get it.
Born Heidi Hudson Leick, the 27-year-old actress grew up in Rochester NY, where she attended high school in what she described as "a Welcome to the Dollhouse kind of education." Over a bottle of water and the aforementioned sandwich, Leick openly relates the experience.
Leick seems content to avoid the usual scarlet-of-the-moment rat race and to let her conscience, not her publicist, be her guide.

 *About Hudson Leick*
Hudson Leick's dramatic roles have ranged from an angel on the CBS series Touched by an angel to Callisto, who seems the devil's own creation, she took Hudson as her first name because it is her grandmother's maiden name, "and my roots are important."
Leick modeled in France after high school but, she said, "I wasn't very good and wasn't getting a lot of work." On returning to the States she took an acting class at Nazareth College.
Leick considered one of the best aspects of working on Xena to be the strong presence of women in the cast and crew, which she said strongly influences the atmosphere on set:

 Here Comes Trouble!
Callisto (Hudson Leick) is a mad, driven character "literally screaming for attention," according to her portrayer.
Leick graduated in 1992 after honing her acting skills playing parts like Suzy in "The Hot L Baltimore." Nazareth College followed, as did a production of "Our Town" and the more challenging lead role of Emily ("I think that's when it really started cooking," she remembers).
Dealing with her new-found fame as an actress, Leick is amazed and just a little overwhelmed, especially since she's still somewhat intimidated by all things "cyber." The Hudson Leick Official Fan Club, operated by Debbie Mills, can be found on the Web at http://www.hudsonleickfan.com/, and a quarterly newsletter has been around since last June.
