Huemac: The Legendary Fall of Tollan
Huemac is a secular, civic chief of the Toltecs.
Huemac says to him, "By force you are to cure my daughter", and Tobeyo is washed, has his hair cut and is dressed in a Maxtli girdle and blanket, and is sent in to sleep with Huemac's daughter.
According to Davies, in the Memorial Brave of Chimalpahin, the Obras Historicas by Alva Ixtlilxochitl, and the Monarquia Indiana by Torquemada, Huemac is the enemy of Topiltzin Quetzalcoatl, either as a contemporary ruler or as one of the evil sorcerers (!).

Huemac (11th century?) was the last king of the Toltec before the fall of Tula/Tollan.
In the days when Tenochtitlán was the island capital of the Aztecs, the city was linked to Chapultepec by a causeway and the hill was a retreat for the Emperors.

Huemac stared at the writhing form of his wife on the pallet, her belly sickeningly distended with this, her forth child not to survive birth.
Huemac listened impatiently, now sensing there would be no change in the fate of his child and wanting nothing more than to be away from the sights and sounds of his wife struggling to dispel the being from her tired body.
Huemac followed Malinche to his wife’s pallet, his insides torn by the contentment he saw on her features and the loathing he felt at his part in the deception, to meet the child he would raise as his own.

Toltecs - LoveToKnow 1911   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-31)
In this work it is stated that Quetzalcoatl died in A.D. 895, and was followed by four kings in succession, after whom the wise Huemac ascended the throne in A.D. 994 under the name of Atecpanecatl.
From the same source we learn that it was in A.D. 1064 (a date which is assigned to the beginning of a half-mythical history by various other documents and MSS.) that the Toltecs left their homes and migrated eastward to Tabasco and Soconusco.
At the same time Huemac killed himself in the cave of Cincalco.

Sensing the imminent collapse of his empire, Huemac causes the city of Tollan to be razed rather than let it fall into the hands of Tezcatlipoca and his followers, the Chichimecs.
Huemac's loyal Nonoalco followers, forced to flee with him, perish one by one in the cold passes between the Volcanos Ixtaccihuatl and Popocapetl.
Huemac is referred to as "Quetzalcoatl" in the Florentine Codex, which has caused endless confusion between him and his father Topiltzin.

"The Chalchiuhite Dragon: A Tale of Toltec Times" by Kenneth Morris (Homepage)
King Huemac of Tollan, Nonohualcatl's brother, besieged and captured these three in their lake fortress, and Ceacatl inflicted, or witnessed, their cruel punishment.
Then he put down the custom of war, preaching to his people from a mountain top through a "loudspeaker" that caused his voice to be heard over many hundreds of miles and ordaining peace, a life of love, the doctrine we know.
However, Prince Huemac, probably Ceacatl's cousin, was ambitious; his ambitions were fanned by the priesthood of Teotihuacan, the old established church, now San Juan Teotihuacan, seat of the head of the Catholic hierarchy; or it was until the days of Don Plutarco Elias Calles and his successors.

None of the warriors know Huemac well enough to talk to him, though in general he is known to remember every person he has ever met, so they would be very surprised if he didn't know them all by name.
Huemac is known to be bluff and plainspoken, but he is so far outside of their social class that instigating conversation would be considered extremely rude.
Huemac merely shrugs, as if to say "do as you think best", then places his war shield and club against a wall, folds his arms, and observes.
