		Hugh Dennis (born Peter Dennis in 1962) is a British actor, comedian and writer.
		A skilled impressionist, Dennis did voices for Spitting Image and with comedy partner Steve Punt, whom he met at university in Cambridge, appeared as resident support comics on two TV series hosted on the BBC by Jasper Carrott.
		Dennis grew up in Ipswich and famously his father was the Bishop of Saint Edmundsbury and Ipswich.

		Their own TV series, The Imaginatively Titled Punt and Dennis Show, was never as popular as The Mary Whitehouse Experience, though it got higher audiences and a better slot than the other pairing's spin-off project Newman and Baddiel in Pieces, which led to their acrimonious separation as a partnership of Newman and Baddiel.
