Hugh Duffy of the Boston Red Sox at Comiskey Park in 1921.
In 1894 Duffy had one of the greatest seasons in baseball history, leading the league with 18 home runs, with 145 RBI and a.440 batting average (see Triple crown).
Duffy finished his career in 1906 with 106 home runs which was, at the time, one of the highest career totals ever.

 OOTP Developments Forums - Players coming out of retirement???
I notice in the league leaders that some guy named Duffy is third in the league in batting average, hitting.338.
So I investigate and find that it is the same Hugh Duffy who retired a full 10 years earlier.
He doesn't show up in the free agent list, but the real Hugh Duffy is still in the Hall of Fame with the correct stats.

Going by numbers alone Duffy should win in a landslide, but I'm a bit uncertain how to weigh his stats given that he played sooo long ago.

I have a Hugh Duffy and wife Mary, they had a daughter Grace born about 1858.
Grace shows up on the 1870 Boston Census in 1870 occ.
Are you sure Hugh was born in Boston?
