It was a wild nine week ride resulting in almost 1100 PC members from across Manitoba voting for me. Nearly 12 per cent of the members thought I should lead PC Manitoba into the next election.
Shortly after that race, I visited with the winner, PC Manitoba leader Hugh McFadyen and pledged my support to him and to the party.
Manitoba needs major political changes and within the context of Manitoba politics, Hugh McFadyen and PC Manitoba are the best suited to make those changes.

McFadyen made the announcement this morning at a community club in Winnipeg's St. James area, where he grew up.

I give kudos to Ken Waddell for releasing his policies and where he stands on certain issues.  Policies and ideas are exactly what we need to be talking about and where we want to take the province.
I fully expected Hugh today to be tough on Doer but once again what does this rhetoric do to bring independent and swing voters to the PC Party of Manitoba?
Hugh's exact quote from the CBC refers to Doer as the "tired, old NDP government." Don't get me wrong I totally agree with what Hugh said but on the day you officially announce that you are running to be the Premier of Manitoba you should set the tone from day 1 on a positive note.
