HUGH McCRARY FAMILY HISTORY Hugh was married to Susannah Whitaker in current day Chester Co., PA, in 1748/49. FOR DESCENDANTS OF HUGH McCRARY, SR., OF PA AND ROWAN CO.,NC Hugh McCrary's birthplace has not been definitely established as of this time, however, it is thought that he came to the United States from Ireland in the mid-1700s during one of the Scotch-Irish influxes into this country.
