The response from the Conservative party was to pledge that a future Tory government would allow museums to charge if they want to, and to demand that foreign tourists be charged for seeing English museum treasures.

HUGO Swire, the Conservative MP for East Devon, was so worried when he was told that British National Party leaflets had been distributed within his constistuency that he left Westminster and went straight Millwey Rise in Axminster to examine one of the leaflets.
Hugo wanted to confirm for himself that the BNP were targeting towns within his constituency.
