Hull went 3-1 against Quebec during the regular season and overcame a two-goal disadvantage late in the second period.
Hull pulled within one late in the second period with a power-play goal.

Hemsky came to the Hull Olympiques as a 17-year old, via his hometown club of Pardubice, Czech Republic where he played for both the Junior and Extraliga clubs in 1999-00.
At Christmas, Hemsky recieved a call that he had been hoping for all season long, the call to represent the Czech Republic at the World Junior Championships which were to be held in his hometown of Pardubice.
