U.S. Copyright Office - Registration of Vessel Hull Designs
The Vessel Hull Design Protection Act, Title 17, Chapter 13 of the United States Code, was signed into law on October 28, 1998, providing for protection for original designs of vessel hulls.
The law grants an owner of an original vessel hull design certain exclusive rights provided that application for registration of the design with the Copyright Office is made within two years of the design being made public.
When a design protected under the Vessel Hull Design Protection Act is publicly exhibited, publicly distributed, or offered for sale or sold to the public, a design notice should appear on the vessel in the manner set forth in section 212.4 of the interim regulations.

Note the protruding interior ends of the rivets, their exteriors being flush with the hull plate surface.

Hull note - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Hull note, delivered on November 26, 1941, was the final proposal delivered to Japan by the United States before the start of war between the two nations.
He decided the Japanese were not being sincere in their negotiations and instructed Secretary of State Cordell Hull to drop the counter-proposal.
On 1941-11-26 Secretary Hull presented the Japanese ambassador with the 'Hull note', which as one of its conditions demanded the complete withdrawal of all Japanese troops from China.

Note that when we do find a clockwise turn, we must backtrack and check that the previous point added to the convex hull does not make a clockwise turn to the new point.
To implement this, we note that we don't have to check every angle of the ray (as there are an infinite number), but simply to check the angle from each new point to the current point on the convex hull and then going off to the right.
We first note that such points must be within delta of the border, and so we only have to check points along a vertical strip along the border which extends delta-wide to either side.

Hull weight varies widely and depends on the size of the vessel and the weight per ton of displacement of the material from which the hull is made.
Calculate hull resistance-- Use the formula R=(ÃWD) x rf where ÃWD is the square root of the hull's displacement multiplied by the percentage of the hull actually in the water and rf is the hull resistance factor found with each hull type in the Hull Types table.
Note that the hull and the superstructure may be (and often are) built of different materials such as a wooden deck house on a steel hull.

Detail C show a well designed hard chine hull with a small transom, note that even in a hard chine hull you could just as well bring this to a canoe stern if you like, with a transom, this is about as large as it should ever be.
Notice also in the cross section of the hull (That section was shown in the sections drawing at the start of this article) that the bow does not have a sharp an entry as the motorboat, nor does it need one.
Note that the shape aft prohibits loading the stern with weight; this correct and is as it should be, any excessive weight aft will degrade the sailing qualities and could, in fact, endanger the craft.

Similar to a convex hull, the visual hull is always larger than the original object, and no part of the object is not within the visual hull.
To generate a view-dependent rendering of the visual hull, we can solve for intersections with the visual hull in a series of planes perpendicular to the lookat vector, gradually receeding away from the viewer.
Note in this view, the plane is not perpendicular to the view vector for "illustrative purposes".

Convex Hull of a 2D Point Set or Polygon
Computing a convex hull (or just "hull") is one of the first sophisticated geometry algorithms, and there are many variations of it.
The convex hull of a geometric object (such as a point set or a polygon) is the smallest convex set containing that object.
Note that for each point of S there is one push and at most one pop operation, giving a maximum of 2n stack operations for the whole algorithm.
