  Human Traffic
Human Traffic begins late on a Friday afternoon as four friends are itching to get off from their various McJobs and work out their frustrations in a round of club-hopping and partying.
Human Traffic is best at catching the sound and rhythms of the kids’ pop-informed dialogue, as in a wonderful exchange between Jip and Koop where the actors stop performing and let their real youthful energy take over the scene.
Human Traffic has some simple but gorgeous visual strokes, as when during their drug trip the kids’ disembodied heads float against a cloud-white background, or when Jip argues with Reality while seated on a couch that hovers amongst the stars in outer space.

kamera.co.uk - film review, Human Traffic
Billed as the film for the rave generation, Human Traffic seems to have all the ingredients necessary for it to capture the crucial youth market it is aimed at: drugs, sex, inert 'hipness', furious and inventive filmmaking, a cast of young talented 'Brits', memorable quotes, and hilarious situations.
One major aspect of Human Traffic that does work well is its terrific soundtrack that accompanies the highs and lows of the 48 hour weekend and the events that take place in it.
Human Traffic, although admirable in its attempts to depict the state of the nation through the feelings of its youth, is really nothing more than cinematic ventriloquism.

KCNA Terms U.S. Kingpin of "Human Traffic"
As for human traffic, it is reported time and again in the United States, a rogue state which has profited from slave trade and flesh traffic since its extermination of millions of native Indians and where fin-de-siecle lifestyle based on money-almighty conception and jungle law prevails.
The U.S. is cursed and censured worldwide as the kingpin of man-hunting and flesh traffic from the historical and contemporary viewpoints.
All facts suffice to prove that the human traffic much touted by the U.S. is not the problem of any other country but its own problem and that the U.S. is chiefly to blame for the crude violation of the independent rights of the popular masses and the worldwide disaster, misfortune and social vices.

Loaded to the gills with quirky straight-to-camera dialogue and surrealistic fantasy sequences, Human Traffic come across like a modern update of a John Hughes teen movie, and the main thrust of the story - the budding romance between Jip and his best friend Lulu - is straight out of Some Kind Of Wonderful.
Human Traffic was a soundtrack-album-driven project, its double-disc compilation CD companion well regarded by those who like their dance music accessible and melody-laden.
Ultimately, Human Traffic is a well made bit of no-brainer fluff, a teen flick transported into the world of pills ‘n’ thrills with a heady dose of stylistic excess and a lot of attitude.

SPLICEDwire | "Human Traffic" review (2000)
The story is narrated with hyperactive chirp by Jip (John Simms), a soft-featured Tim Roth look-alike who blows off steam from his weekdays in retail hell by getting squiffy with his mates and dancing the night away.
Written and directed by 25-year-old Justin Kerrigan, a recent Welsh film school grad who has won a handful of festival awards, "Human Traffic" accompanies this group from their day jobs (hate them!) through their club-hopping nights in a style that apes from a dozen sources (notably, "Trainspotting" and early MTV) without feeling unoriginal.
When someone in Hollywood decides to rip off "Human Traffic" -- and they will -- it will undoubtedly become homogenized with a slapped-together PG-13 script, an interchangeable Gap model cast and a soundtrack full of radio-friendly vanilla teen-pop in place of this picture's adrenaline-overdrive beat-mix.

Trafficking in human beings is a global issue, but a lack of systematic research means that reliable data on the trafficking of human beings that would allow comparative analyses and the design of countermeasures is scarce.
The Global Programme against Trafficking in Human Beings (GPAT) was designed by the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in collaboration with the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) and launched in March 1999.
The GPAT's' overarching objective is to bring to the foreground the involvement of organized criminal groups in human trafficking and to promote the development of effective criminal justice-related responses.

 Human Traffic (1999)
Billed as the movie for the rave generation, likened to Trainspotting and bringing with it the buzz and burden of expectation, Human Traffic has found itself carrying a responsibility its 25 year old director Justin Kerrigan could never have imagined when he began writing the screenplay two years ago, fresh out of film school.
Like Trainspotting, the structure of Human Traffic is loose and little more than an assembly of anecdotes, following the characters over the course of a hedonistic weekend.
Ultimately, this lack of substance does undermine Human Traffic's impact, while at the same time providing a suitable medium for the message: a good time is had, but the effects soon wear off.

At this point, the trafficking of human beings and illegal immigration in general has become one of the most substantial businesses in the world of international crime.
If we estimate, and I would say this is a prudent evaluation, that 500,000 illegal immigrants arrive in Europe every year and that every immigrant pays an average of €4,000 to the traffickers, we are at a turnover of around €2 billion annually, which is certainly enticing to al-Qaeda.
In any case, we have received signals of frequent interaction between illegal immigration, terrorism and the trafficking of arms and human beings.
