Wilfred Kunz of Humboldt, Saskatchewan, found the three-kilogram meteorite while picking rocks from cultivated and seeded land about May 11.
The rusting or weathering of the meteorite was also further revealed indicating that this meteorite probably had fallen on the prairies thousands of years ago.
Saskatchewan is now tied with Alberta as Canada's leading provinces for meteorite recoveries.
