Brown County, in a stunning transformation, has converted property ownership from one of the requirements of being a qualified elector to a demonstrable detriment.
The County Clerk and trial judge ruled that Cross was ineligible for the post because he was not an eligible elector at the time of the filing of his nomination papers, notwithstanding that he would be 21 years of age at the time he would assume office.
This complainant is ineligible for the ballot for county supervisory district #1 because of the respondents’ finding that she was not a qualified elector at the time of the submission of her nomination papers.

 History of Livingston County from The History of Caldwell and Livingston Counties
John Graves was appointed trustee for the county to lay off and sell the lots in the new town, which was ordered to be surveyed into 20 blocks before September 4, 1837; but on that day Graves resigned, and Nathan H. Gregory was appointed commissioner and trustee in his stead, giving a bond of $5,000.
Brown now has in his possession a horse pistol taken from the belt of the English general, Ferguson, who was killed at the battle of King's Mountain.
He afterwards served on the judicial bench of the county for seven years, then resigned his position and resumed farming, and at this time he owns 120 acres of land, and a prominent feature of this place is a coal band, the first one opened in the county, a 22-inch vein of fine quality.

Brown County is a county located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin.
Brown County is one of Wisconsin's two original counties along with Crawford County and originally spanned the entire eastern half of the state when formed by the Michigan Territorial legislature in 1818.
In the county, the population was spread out with 26.10% under the age of 18, 10.50% from 18 to 24, 31.90% from 25 to 44, 20.90% from 45 to 64, and 10.70% who were 65 years of age or older.

Brown County is trying to stem the flow of sediment off farm fields through participation in a new federal conservation program.
Bill Hafs, county conservationist with the Brown County Land Conservation Department, said intensive farming and the urban complexion of Brown County make it the second largest contributor of sediment to Lake Michigan in Wisconsin and Michigan.
Don Jossart, a town of Humboldt farmer, said he is interested in the project and has talked to members of the conservation department about it.
