Humppa is the traditional music in Acadia, altough it is sung entirely in Icelandish.
The first Humppa composition was first sung in 1998, to express the extreme sorrow of the Faeroese for the death of the Prime Minister of Canada in the 1997 Fence Disaster.
Traditionally the humppa is called the Kilpyyttönkultapoikahuonetyttöpelimies Blues, although is hs not been officially recognised by the International Blues Bureau.

For those who are unaware of this fine and noble musical style, Finnish Humppa is the pre-eminent music for drunken flailing.
Last year I was at a party at a friends house playing the fabulous recordings I had been given during my Finnish excursion, (thanks to Tom Tom and all the bands who slipped me their discs).
Now the hallway was behind the lounge room where the real music and the crowd was - with two big RCF speakers, I was just wanting to fiddle with my organ - solely for my entertainment, even though there were a couple of people queing for the toilet who were digging it.

It's that time again kitties, the OpenBSD release song and artwork has been published, but this time there is an extra song, which is found on the OpenBSD audio CD that contains all the release songs from 3.0 to 4.0.
The songs, titled Humppa Negala and OpenVOX, are two rather different songs, while Humppa Negala is obviously a Humppa song OpenVOX is a hip-hopping explaination of how Ty Semaka and Theo de Raadt come together to make the release art and music.
Both songs are available for download now in both.mp3 and.ogg vorbis formats from the OpenBSD site and if not already, will be on mirrors shortly.
