Festival des arts de St-Sauveur, The Hungarian Ballet detail english
Nowerdays there are lots of excellent ballet companies in Hungary such as the Hungarian National Ballet (the Ballet Company of the Hungarian State Opera House) which is the first ensemble of the country and as a matter of fact, without an overstatement, it became the citadel of the European ballet art.
The aspect of the Hungarian National Ballet is still determined by four important factors: the national traditions based on Harangozó's work, the influence of the classical Russian school, the Hungarian choreographers after the so called Harangozó's period and finally the contemporary, modern European and American art.
Besides using the elements of the Hungarian folk dance his pieces are supported by traditions of the classical ballet and also effected both by the contemporary styles and Russian school.

 Recent Opera Round-up
The Hungarian State Opera, on Budapest's Andrassy Street, home to the first underground Metro system in continental Europe (predating even Paris), was quick off the mark to stage Britten's Peter Grimes after its première at London's Sadler's Wells.
