The Hungaroring is a Formula One race-track near Budapest, Hungary, location of the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Some say that the Hungaroring is similar in style to Circuit de Monaco, due to its tight and twisty corners.
This is generally perceived to be due to the lack of a Scandinavian Grand Prix, rather than the shared Finno-Ugric roots of the Finnish and Hungarian languages.

The secret to a winning performance at Hungaroring, as well as qualifying well, is pit strategy, best demonstrated best in 1998, where Michael Schumacher's Ferrari team changed his strategy mid-race before Schumacher put in one of his finest drives to build up a winning margin after all the stops had been made.
Passing is a rarity here, although the 1989 race saw a famously bullish performance from Nigel Mansell in the Ferrari, who started from 12th on the grid and passed car after car, finally taking the lead in splendid opportunist style when Ayrton Senna was baulked by a slower runner.

AS the Hungarian Grand Prix held at the Hungaroring on August 24 races ever closer, advance ticket sales for this year's Formula 1 event are down by as much as 35% on last year, according to the race organizers.
Hungaroring Sport Rt is owned by the GYISM and organizers received Ft2.5 billion ($10.82 million) last year from the central budget to extend the track's racing license and for maintenance costs.
Balázs Tóth, head of marketing and communications at Hungaroring said that, this year, there was nothing spectacular to attract hoards of spectators, unless they wanted to personally witness how racing drivers speed along Hungaroring's new extended straight doing at more than 300km per hour during the Formula 1 weekend on August 22-24.

Barrichello, winner at the Hungaroring last year when Ferrari clinched their fourth successive title, plunged straight ahead into the tire wall at the end of the main straight after what appeared to be a disastrous suspension failure.
He lost his left rear wheel and and slammed with locked brakes into the tire barrier and the impact also tore off his Ferrari's front wheels and said it all happened without any warning.
The main straight at the Hungaroring was extended this year at the FIA's request to just under 800 metres but the racetrack squeezed between the hills east of Budapest cannot be extended any further.
