I think hunting with a gun is at least usually preferable to hunting with a pack of dogs, but I still don't agree with it.
Texas hunting rules require that a whitetail (yes they are native to north america) or mule deer taken by a cartridge firing rifle (as opposed to a fl powder rifle) be a center fire cartridge not a rim fire cartridge.
Hunting another animal with a gun in the name of sport is just plain stupidity.
