The Huntington Library (or The Huntington) is an educational and research institution established by Henry Huntington in San Marino, California, USA.
The library contains an extensive collection of rare books and manuscripts, including a Gutenberg Bible, the Ellesmere manuscript, and thousands of historical documents about Abraham Lincoln including the papers of the president's bodyguard Ward Hill Lamon.
It is the only library in the world with the first two quartos of Hamlet; it holds the manuscript of Ben Franklin's autobiography, the first seven drafts of Thoreau's Walden, and many other great treasures.

The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens in Pasadena, California, has received $10 million from the Rose Hills Foundation to support the renovation of the museum's main gallery, the Pasadena Star-News reports.
In addition to major structural and electrical upgrades, the museum, which is the former home of railroad magnate Henry Huntington, will also receive a new climate control system to aid in the preservation of the artworks housed there, which include Thomas Gainsborough's The Blue Boy and Thomas Lawrence's Pinkie.
The Los Angeles-based foundation, which is the charitable arm of Rose Hills Memorial Park & Mortuary in Whittier, had previously contributed $6 million toward the construction of a botanical science conservatory that is scheduled to open on the Huntington's grounds in October.

The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens in San Marino, California, has received a $1-million boost from actor and author Steve Martin.
