	Hurricane Isidore Lashes Cuba, Caymans and Jamaica
		Hurricane Isidore is only the second hurricane and first major hurricane of the 2002 Atlantic Hurricane Season.
		Later, on the 19th, Isidore became the second hurricane of the season, and was hitting Jamaica, and the Caymans hard with between one to two feet of rain.
		Isidore, in the meantime, continued to drift slowly toward the Western tip of Cuba, and during the afternoon of September 20th, 2002, it made landfall in the Isle of Youth and Pinar del Rio region of the Communist island nation.

		Hurricane Isidore was a slow-moving tropical cyclone that hit western Cuba as a category 1 hurricane (on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Scale) and the northern Yucatan Peninsula as a category 3 hurricane.
		Isidore's peak intensity of 110 knots at 1800 UTC 21 September, was a compromised between adjusted aircraft flight-level winds and satellite estimates.

		Isidore, which was at 100 mph when it bared down on Cuba, grew to 115 mph as it entered the Southern Gulf, and turned toward the west.
		Models were beginning to show a track that would have Isidore knocking at the door of the Gulf Coast by the middle of next week, and some indicated that it would be a very powerful hurricane with winds of 130 to 150 miles per hour.
