Batman - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
After the introduction of DC Comics' multiverse in the 1960s, it was retroactively established that the Golden Age Batman lived on the parallel world of Earth-Two.
In recent comics, the idea was introduced of Batman being an urban legend; however, this notion is contradicted by various previous stories.
In modern comics, Batman is shown to have become steadily paranoid over the years and tends to not trust other heroes, even those he has known for years, like Superman, and some enemies have used this to isolate the Dark Knight.

In this stand-alone story, Hush is further developed as he makes a calculated effort to abduct Alfred, and a shocking development to Hush’s character is revealed.
Vice versa, Elliott’s relationship to the Wayne family felt cheapened through his being Hush: ultimately, it came across as an unconvincing piece of history that was simply meant to add weight to the Hush character.
If no real character development is made, people could lose interest in Hush on the grounds that his ‘cryptic motive’ was his only gimmick, yielding him to the same fates as Bane the ‘bat-breaker’ or Azrael the ‘dark-bat’.

Batman: Hush Volume 2 is the sequel to Volume 1 of the mysterious and exciting Hush series which was a bestseller monthly title that was delivered for a year.
The entire Hush storyline is captivating, and very mysterious as readers struggle to discover the identity of "the bandaged man in a trench coat" who colides with the Batman in a few exciting sequences.
Batman Hush is a mystery and you'll probably try and figure out who's beneath the bandages unless you collected the issues a year ago.

Batman: Hush (Volumes 1 & 2) - Jeph Loeb, Jim Lee, Scott Williams - Graphic novel review
But let's start with the title: Hush has a number of layered meanings in this book, but perhaps most of all, it's a plea to the reader not to reveal its secrets to those who haven't read it.
Although the story is far from being as central to the Batman mythos as Year One, The Killing Joke or The Dark Knight Returns, it's a fun march through Batman's history, revealing a few secrets and managing to pull a few surprises.
That it originally ran within the normal course of the Batman comic has allowed it to make a few changes and take a few liberties, but it's the artwork that makes it special.

Prior to working on "Hush", Loeb showed us the darkest side of the Dark Knight's scared mind in "The Long Halloween" and its sequel "Dark Victory", both taking place in an earlier era in Batman's crime fighting career.
Storywise, "Hush" is one of the greatest achievements in the Batman legacy, complete with suspenseful writing and amazing artwork by Jim Lee.

 IGN: Batman: Hush Review
First, there are comics that raise ire with fans because they do stupid things -- bring back a character from the dead for the fifth time, break continuity -- and then there are books that offer significant changes in the status quo, good or bad.
Hush is the rare case of a comic that hits on both levels of controversy and that's why fans seem to love it or hate it.
I'm not happy about several aspects of Hush, particularly Loeb's re-using of an old Clayface trick that was done a decade ago.

 Attentiondeficitdisorderly Too Flat
As a matter of fact, the conclusion of "Hush," the 12-part storyline written by Jeph Loeb and illustrated by Jim Lee in Batman's eponymous flagship monthly title, was offensively bad.
"Hush" concerned Batman's attempts to determine the identity of a mysterious new foe, the mastermind behind a serious of surprisingly sophisticated attacks by the vigilante's rogues gallery.
There's more to "Hush" than this awful phony non-twist, though, I hear its proponents saying even now (they're not using the words "awful phony non-twist," but the sentiment is roughly the same).

World Famous Comics: Absolute Batman: Hush
In Hush, Batman is portrayed as more of the mid-range Batman: not a friendly sort, but still caring enough to be the Batman I remember from the post Frank Miller reinvention of the 80's.
Now, Hush is first and foremost a Batman story, so you will have the action and the mystery aspect- but the great thing is, Hush is a VERY mature and complex story.
HUSH ultimately becomes out of control throughout the plot development in its intent on being an epic, all defining book with its features of shocking moments and revelations.
