	Hussa of Bernicia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Hussa ruled from 585 to 592 and was the seventh known ruler of the Anglo-Saxon kingdom of Bernicia.
		It is not entirely certain whether Hussa was the son of Ida, founder of the kingdom of Bernicia, or rather the leader of a rival Anglian faction.
		The years of Hussa's reign are conjecture: the earliest authorities differ widely on the order and the regnal years of the kings between the death of Ida and the beginning of Æthelfrith's rule in 592/593.

		The topic of the Hussa Brewery came up because several weeks ago Leo Frentzel was doing some digging along the foundation of his home at 1419 Willow St. and struck some bricks which were actually part of the original foundation of the brewery.
		It appears Hussa operated the brewery in Watertown from 1851 to 1854 before selling it to some others and then moving to the La Crosse area.

	Riding the silences in cowboy poetry
		When Hussa read poems from her new book, Ride the Silence, at the Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko in January, an auditorium that moments before had been filled with raucous laughter, fell silent.
		The air was knocked out of the crowd of cowboy hats as each person alone heard her painfully sharp portraits of women's lives emerging from the silences of ranches in the West.
		Some of Hussa's poems were inspired by oral histories of women in ranching.
