Halfmoon Township, settled in 1784, was formally erected in 1802.
Burnside Township is, with Snow Shoe Township, one of the Mountaintop sister townships on the Appalachian Plateau in the northwestern corner of Centre County.
Huston Township, created in 1838 from the northern part of Patton Township, extends from the top of Muncy Mountain across the Bald Eagle Valley to the crest of the Alleghenies.

Lycoming county embraced the territory that lay north and west of the West Branch, while the lands between the Mushanon and the West Branch were, at the time of the enactment, in Huntingdon county.
Centre, Clearfield, and McKean counties were, on the number of taxables returned, entitled to one member of the House of Representatives.
The township embraced the territory in the county east of Muddy Run to its mouth, and from thence was bounded by Clearfield Creek to its mouth.

The history of Clearfield county properly begins at the time of its organization, and a narrative of the events of the territory within its boundaries, prior to such organization, must be associated with the events of the older counties from which it was erected.
The county is bounded north by Elk and Cameron counties; east by Centre and Clinton counties; south by Cambria county, and west by Jefferson and Indiana counties.
The Moshannon receives the drainage or surface waters from the west slope of the Alleghenies in Centre county, and of the eastern slope of the irregular and broken hilly districts of the townships on the east boundary of Clearfield county.

Medians were installed from the Harris Township line to Boalsburg and US 202 to Concordville as well as the designation moved off Paxton Street and onto I-83 from the Second Street interchange to the Paxtang interchange.
In 1968, the new alignment from east of the Centre County line opened while construction began on sections from I-81 to US 22, the Eisenhower Interchange where I-83, I-283, and US 322 all converge, and a short section of expressway east to Paxton Street.
A median was installed from PA 417 to French Creek in Franklin and from Underwood Trail to south of the Centre County line while the sections from I-81 to US 22, the Eisenhower/Hershey Interchange, and short expressway east of it opened.
