VC Records trading as Hut Records is a record label brand which was started in 1990 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Virgin Records.
Hut expanded by licensing The Smashing Pumpkins from Caroline Records.
Hut Records was discontinued by Virgin Records mid 2004 due to an overhaul of the group, 20% of the artists on Hut were dropped whilst the rest were moved over to other labels within the EMI Records group.

This 1998 Hat Hut CD has the most integrity of any recording I have heard in the recent past.
When I first played the recording, I thought it was the most beautiful collection of music I had ever heard.

The recording, by John Sorenson with Reid Kruger’s assistance at the Banff Center in Alberta, is remarkably good — superbly dynamic, with just the right sense of acoustic space.
A poor-quality recording produced by any of Germany’s electro-cultural apparats is the rare exception, which also addresses, of course, technical savoir-faire.
The ever excellent Peter Pfister recorded, so marvelously well, in fact, that I have used this disc several times already in its early career on my shelves as a demo for audiophile visitors (whose musical horizons lie, as a rule, about a half-yard distant).

Hat Hut’s Feldman series of single CDs and multiple-disc sets figured as one, number an even dozen, and I’ve no reason to believe the project is done.
The chronologically earlier features "historic" recordings by the late David Tudor, new music’s premier keyboard virtuoso, of several Klavierstücke [Piano Pieces, 6142]; 6132, a recent performance of Spiral, features the remarkable Eberhard Blum’s voice, flute, and manipulations of a shortwave receiver.
As is the case with many of the discs in which this splendid bassist plays, his instrument dominates.
