The Hutt Valley is the large area of fairly flat land in the Hutt River valley in the Wellington region of New Zealand.
The valley forms a major dormitory suburban area for Wellington, and is a location for manufacturing and heavy industry, educational and recreational facilities, and the region's motor camps.
A small remnant of the early podocarp forest is preserved in Barton's Bush in Upper Hutt.

 Lower Hutt, New Zealand
Lower Hutt is the ninth largest city in New Zealand with the city center on the lower valley of the Hutt river.
Prior to the city being established, the Hutt Valley was thickly forested with marshland close to the river's mouth.
Within months of settlement, however, the Hutt River flooded, and the settlers decided to move the new colony to Thorndon, in what is now the heart of Wellington, though some settlers remained at the north end of the harbour.
