The Hutt Valley Campaign of 1846 during the New Zealand land wars could almost be seen as a sequel to the Wairau Affray.
The careless or unscrupulous purchase of land from the Māori by the New Zealand Company, and the impatience of the settlers to move on to disputed land, were the triggering factors.
On 16 May there was a major attack on a defended position; Boulcott's Farm, one of the most forward homesteads in the Hutt Valley.

Lower Hutt is the ninth largest city in New Zealand with the city center on the lower valley of the Hutt river.
Prior to the city being established, the Hutt Valley was thickly forested with marshland close to the river's mouth.
Within months of settlement, however, the Hutt River flooded, and the settlers decided to move the new colony to Thorndon, in what is now the heart of Wellington, though some settlers remained at the north end of the harbour.

The Hutt Valley is the large area of fairly flat land in the Hutt River valley in the Wellington region of New Zealand.
The valley forms a major dormitory suburban area for Wellington, and is a location for manufacturing and heavy industry, educational and recreational facilities, and the region's motor camps.
Almost the whole valley was clearfelled and converted to pasture or market gardens before the urbanisation of the 20th century.

The soldiers who marched into Valley Forge on December 19th, 1777 stayed in their tents until their huts could be constructed for the winter, which they commenced building almost immediately.
One of the common types of tents used during the Revolution was the "wedge tent." The style is still used today: It is the triangular front and back with two sloping sides.

At Waikanae, he rebuked Te Rangihaeata and Te Rauparaha for killing the prisoners, but said that as the Europeans were first in the wrong, he would not avenge their deaths.
Te Rangihaeata also opposed the spread of settlement in the Hutt Valley, claiming that the area had not been paid for.

Nigeria: Thirteen years after the reported pollution of the underground water and wells in the community, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and Baruwa community in the Ayobo local government of Lagos State are yet to agree over the cause of the problem which has brought discomfort to many houses in the area.
While NNPC insisted at the weekend during the public enlightenment campaign on the effect of pipeline vandalisation on the environment of Baruwa community, they, the pollution was as a result of massive vandalisation of pipelines between 1994 and 19996, the community, however attributed the cause to raptured pipes as a result of age.
