The road on the left here leading to Huyton Industrial Estate, is Ellis Ashton Street, named after a former Vicar of Huyton, who was a benefactor of many townships within Knowsley Borough.
A short distance along Huyton Hey Road brings you to Park Hall (HU187), which comprised the original Congregational Chapel built in 1856, and adjoining school completed in 1861.

The focal point of Huyton is the historic Parish Church (HU92/12) dedicated to St. Michael which stands (as many churches of this name), occupying high ground on a ridge and therefore visible throughout the township.
Adjacent to Huyton Hey Manor is a small park area called Paradise, which was made into a children's playground by the local Council after the land was donated by Lady Carr-Saunders (formerly Molyneux-Seel).

How wonderful to read the memories about the AAF camp at Bluebell Lane, Huyton in the 1940s and about the Americans and Italians who were stationed there during the war.
He left for the Allied landings before I was born and sadly I never met him though I made contact with his family in the US who have kindly sent me photos and information about his life.
