Hwang Sung Ho, PCA Investment's Seoul-based chief executive, said he expects to generate about half of the growth from the new funds as more individuals shift assets from bank deposits to monthly fund contribution plans.
Hwang said his marketing team chooses fund names that are easy to remember, giving the firm an edge with individuals and distributors who are selling an increasing number of mutual funds from several different asset-management companies.
Hwang says the fund, which mirrors the PCA Industry Leaders fund and is sold through 10 distributors, will be a success if it can raise its assets under management to between $200 million and $300 million by the year's end, an increase of about 20 times.

The plain, east of this canal, as far north as the mouth of the Hwang ho in 1852, is canalized much as is the area shown in Fig.
The history of the Hwang ho is one of disastrous floods and shiftings of its course, which have occurred many times in the years since before the time of the Great Yu, who perhaps began the works perpetuated today.
With the Hwang ho confined to its channel, the adjacent low lands can be better drained by canalization and freed from the accumulating saline deposits which are rendering them sterile.
