Hydrophile - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A hydrophilic molecule or portion of a molecule is one that is typically charge-polarized and capable of hydrogen bonding, enabling it to dissolve more readily in water than in oil or other hydrophobic solvents.
Hydrophilic and hydrophobic molecules are also known as polar molecules and nonpolar molecules, respectively.
Soap has a hydrophilic head and a hydrophobic tail which allows it to dissolve in both waters and oils, therefore allowing the soap to clean a surface.

The distribution of hydrophilic and hydrophobic aminoacids determines the tertiary structure of the protein, and their physical location on the outside structure of the proteins influences their quaternary structure.
For example, soluble proteins have surfaces rich with polar aminoacids like serine and threonine, while integral membrane proteins tend to have outer ring of hydrophobic aminoacids that anchors them to the lipid bilayer, and proteins anchored to the membrane have a hydrophobic end that locks into the membrane.
Hydrophilic and hydrophobic interactions of the proteins do not have to rely only on the sidechains of aminoacids themselves.

Hydrophile - Biocrawler   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-07)
Hydrophile, from the Greek (hydros) "water" and φιλια (philia) "friendship", refers to a physical property of a molecule that can bond with water.
A hydrophilic molecule or portion of a molecule is one that typically is electrically polarized and capable of hydrogen bonding, enabling it to dissolve more readily in water than in oil or other "non-polar" solvents.

 Pluronic
The hydrophilic groups constitute from 10% to 80% (by weight) of the final molecule.
Since both the ratio and weights of EO and PO vary within this family of surfactants, a PLURONIC Grid was developed to provide a graphic representation of the relationship between copolymer structure, physical form and surfactant characteristics.
We create a hydrophile of the desired molecular weight by the controlled addition of ethylene oxide to ethylene glycol.

 Nomenclature
Plotting molecular weight ranges of the hydrophobe (propylene oxide) against the weight-percent of the hydrophile (ethylene oxide) present in each molecule allows property trends of the product structure to be analyzed on the Grid.
The hydrophile represents approximately 80% of the molecule, by weight, (8 X 10).
Again, hydrophobe molecular weight is plotted against weight percent hydrophile.

Commercial uses emphasized or functions inclined to are different: Super Hydrophile Self-cleaning Spray Agent, Nano Silver Type inclines to self-cleaning and anti-soiling functions, so that it in generally is used for indoor glasses, glasses, door and window etc goods.
In a word, although the silver content of the two products is the same, due to the difference in the aspect of powder, additive, formula and processing technology causes the different cost, so that it is quite normal to have difference in their prices.
