The hydrus is almost always illustrated with its tail sticking out the crocodile's mount and its head emerging from the crocodile's side.

HYDRUS also implements a scaling procedure to approximate hydraulic variability in a given soil profile by means of a set of linear scaling transformations which relate the individual soil hydraulic characteristics to those of a reference soil.
HYDRUS is distributed in five different versions (Levels) so that users are provided with the flexibility of acquiring only that segment of the software that is most appropriate for their application.

 hydrus facts - about hydrus
A star such as hydrus is a celestial body of hot gases that radiates energy derived from thermonuclear reactions in the interior.
Star formation such as for hydrus occurs in molecular clouds, which are large regions of high density in the interstellar medium (albeit less dense than the inside of an earthly vacuum chamber).
The energy produced by stars such as hydrus radiates into space as electromagnetic radiation, as a stream of neutrinos from the star's centre, and as a stream of particles from the star's outer layers (its stellar wind).

CSIRO PUBLISHING - Australian Journal of Soil Research
The ability of HYDRUS-2D (HYDRUS) to simulate water and chemical transport in large, undisturbed cores of a Vertosol and a Podosol soil was investigated.
Parameters required by HYDRUS for simulating water and chemical transport, and nitrogen transformation, were obtained from previously published laboratory studies.
The ability of HYDRUS to accurately simulate water and non-reactive chemical transport agrees with previous studies; however, more investigation into its suitability for predicting the movement reactive chemicals in soil is warranted.

HYDRUS allows agricultural engineers to design irrigation and drainage systems that provide optimal water to crops, while minimizing the transport of fertilizers and pesticides to groundwater.
Too, he says, scientists could use the model to improve the analysis of experiments that have already been carried out and then extrapolate their findings to other locations, crops, or irrigation methods.
While most groundwater models display results as columns of numbers that can be difficult to interpret and manipulate, HYDRUS displays results visually with graphs or contour lines.
