Accrington Accrington is the main town of the Borough of Hyndburn named after the river which flows through a culvert beneath the Victorian shopping arcade.

Hyndburn and Ribble Valley Primary Care Trust (PCT) was formed from the amalgamation of Hyndburn and Ribble Valley Primary Care Groups (PCG's) and became operational on 1st April 2002.
