Futurama (TV series) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Futurama premiered in 1999 to hype and anticipation that seemed fitting for the first new series created by Matt Groening since The Simpsons.
series finale however, and though many plot issues were resolved in the last season, the final episode was in no way a clear "conclusion" to the series—the last line of dialogue, aptly enough, was "Don't stop playing, Fry...
The President of Earth in power at the end of the series is the head of Richard Nixon who achieved a third term through a loop hole in American and Earthican politics since "no BODY can be elected more than twice".

The fact that a significantly higher percentage would like to view tv on their computers than on mobile devices could mean that all the hype about videos on phones is still not the first interest of consumers, who would just like to get it onto their computer monitors for starters.
If talents who've traditionally used tv to reach their audience, can find a way to get themselves noticed on the internet, they may use this medium to distribute their shows themselves, potentially boosting their incomes and freeing themselves from corporate control over their creations.
Advertisers see the way networks analyse tv ratings and break the audience down into particular demographics as being not nearly as precise as could be tracked with on-demand services.

BBC - Comedy Guide - Chalk
A volatile mix of self-obsession, anger, hatred and fear, and with an ego the size of Jupiter, Eric Slatt is a true TV monster - hyperactive, homophobic and ruinously paranoid, his flaws are the catalyst to the school's problems, setting in motion a chain of outrageous events that results in his and its weekly downfall.
The hype was such that Chalk nearly drowned in the stuff; yes, it was funny, and dark, and wild, but few series could have lived up to such trumpet-blowing.
Indeed, the BBC even let it be known that a second series had been commissioned before the first one had aired.

In fact, both the TV series and the political-diplomatic saga surrounding it are the perfect sensationalist ingredients needed to upgrade a local TV production to Hollywood-blockbuster-level hype.

Yet beyond the brand-building requirements of network hype, "Arrested Development" is more Howard's baby than any of the TV projects his company, Imagine, produces.
Howard is an executive producer of the freshman series, and he's pretty much a household name from his acting career ("The Andy Griffith Show," "Happy Days") and his work as an Oscar-winning director ("A Beautiful Mind," "Apollo 13").
Howard acknowledges that "Arrested Development" is several degrees off the center of most sitcoms, but he sees that as one of its strengths.

 Is Geena Davis a Hillary Clinton stand-in? - TV DRAMA - MSNBC.com
The official explanation: Under a two-year deal with Touchstone Television, Lurie has given up his job running “Commander in Chief” to concentrate on developing new series, while TV veteran Steven Bochco (“NYPD Blue” and “L.A. Law”) takes the production reins of a show that had fallen dangerously behind schedule.
Those of a suspicious nature are thinking that ABC's new hit "Commander in Chief" is an effort by Hollywood lefties to hype Hillary Clinton's run for the White House in 2008.
“I promise that if there was no Hillary Clinton, there would still be a ‘Commander in Chief’ — I want to have a hit show that people enjoy, and really, that’s it,” explained Lurie, whose surprising exit from his top 10-ranked series was announced a couple of days later.
