On Aug. 19, Hyundai Heavy Industries once again filed an anti-dumping suit against four Japanese manufacturers of industrial robots, accusing them of selling their products in Korea at prices far lower than those in Japan.
The Japanese companies were accused of exporting industrial robots to Korea at about 60 per cent to 70 per cent of their domestic prices.
Hyundai Heavy Industries, the sole Korean mass-producer of six-axis articulated robots, entered the market in 1986 and has since built about 6,000 industrial robots, capturing 21.3 per cent of the local market.

The vessel's sub-sea section, which is 310 meters long, 58 meters wide and 32 meters deep, can store as much as 2 mm barrels of crude oil, the company said.

SEOUL - The Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. the world's largest shipbuilder, said today it has won a US$280 million deal to build three liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carriers for Greece-based CMM.
The deal increases Hyundai's order backlog to 17 LPG carriers, equivalent to 60% of the large LPG carriers being built worldwide, the company said in a regulatory filing.
Hyundai Heavy has won orders to build 11 LPG vessels so far this year.
