Interstate 295 (abbreviated I-295) is a connector route in Maine from a junction with I-95 in Scarborough to a junction with I-95 in Gardiner.
In January 2004, the routes of I-495, I-95, and I-295 were changed.
I-295's first exit is in Scarborough, giving access to the Maine Mall; its last exit is Exit 51 (formerly Exit 28), which gives access to Gardiner.

The entire non-toll freeway from the Turnpike south of Portland to the Turnpike at Gardiner is I-295 (an extension of the earlier I-295).
I-295 crosses the James River on the Varina-Enon cable-stayed bridge, a six-lane, 150-foot-high span that opened in 1990.
All interchanges are cloverleaves, except for the higher-capacity interchange at its northern terminus at I-95.
