Moby   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-10)
Moby is techno's sensible son, from the pragmatic decision to limit his political discourses to the liner notes of his albums on up to his practical, no-fuss haircut.
I Like To Score, which does offer another one of Moby's written mini-manifestos (this one deals with capitalism's moral crisis), is basically his way of saying that if it looks, sounds, and feels like soundtrack music, well, then, might as well treat it as soundtrack music -- i.e., use it in films.
And like so much contemporary electronica, Moby's sleek instrumental techno tracks are ideally suited for such a task (which is more than just a nice way of saying they don't necessarily hold up on their own).

The results of all this are gathered together on the wryly-titled 'I Like To Score', featuring twelve tracks of Moby's film music, old and new, which serves to showcase his famously diverse range of musical tastes and influences.
From the new age version of the Twin Peaks-sampling 'Go', a Top Ten hit in the UK in 1991, to the stirring cover of Joy Division's 'New Dawn Fades' (from Heat) to the album's first single, a 'Re-Version' of the James Bond theme, 'I Like To Score' is an entertainingly eclectic set.
Before then, of course, there is 'I Like To Score' - an album that not only features possibly Moby's best music, but which has also found him being invited to countless movie premieres.

Long before techno was considered radio-friendly and when the word "rave" wasn't shunned like a toothless dentist, Moby was the shit.
No, not "shit," that title came later, but "the shit," as in "the bomb." You see, back in the day, Moby was pumping out quality techno grooves that were fast and furious, while his reputation was comparable to the one that adorns the Chemical siblings.
