Hence the birth of the “I Love” series, hugely entertaining flashbacks to recent decades narrated by a host of B- and C-list celebrities obviously thrilled to be in the spotlight.
What “I Love the ‘90s” may bring to the table is a spate of viewers who didn’t live through the ‘70s and who are too young to remember Saturday morning cartoons, Menudo and New Coke.
So, as “‘90s” is more likely than its predecessors to incite nostalgia among the adolescent set in addition to the ever-important 18-49s, VH1 may very well have its biggest hit yet.

But fresher doesn't mean funnier; in fact, the forced feel of "I Love the '90s" suggests that nostalgia is a dish best served much colder.
Many of the commentators you laughed at or wanted to slap from the other "I Love" minis are back again to rip and destroy the music, movies, fads and personalities of the decade.
There also seems to be an overreliance on profanity in "I Love the '90s." The unfinished review tapes don't edit out the ample coarse language, but expect some big-time bleeping when this hits the air.

The problem I had with "I Love the '90s: Part Duex" was the same problem I had with the original "I Love the 90's": the lack of good commentators.
Still, "I Love the '90s Strikes Back" is the best thing VH1 has aired so far in 2005 and I have a feeling it will end up being the best thing that VH1 airs all year.

In July, VH1 debuted its "I Love the ’90s" series, which reflects on the pop culture of the decade.
We love to pigeonhole a decade into a few pithy images: The ’70s are disco and girls with long hair; the ’80s, yuppies and girls with big hair.
