Ibas Details, Meaning Ibas Article and Explanation Guide
Ibas attended the council of Ephesus in 431 as a presbyter, was cognizant of Cyril's autocratic conduct, and wrote in 433 the letter to Maris, bishop of Hardaschir in Persia, a letter which later became one of the Three Chapters.
Ibas, starting his journey for Hierapolis to pay his respects to Domnus, learned of the accusation, at once summoned his clergy, pronounced excommunication on Cyrus and Eulogius as calumniators, and threatened the same treatment to all who participated in their proceedings.
In 445 Ibas was summoned by Domnus to the synod held at Antioch in the matter of Athanasius of Perrha, but he excused himself by letter (ibid.

Ibas, when starting for Hierapolis to pay his respects to Domnus, heard of the accusation, and at once summoned his clergy, pronounced excommunication on Cyrus and Eulogius as calumniators, threatened the same treatment to all who participated in their proceedings.
His enemies agreed to withdraw their accusations on Ibas promising that he would forget the past, regard his accusers as his children, and remit any fresh difficulty for settlement to Domnus ; and that, to avoid suspicion of malversation, the church revenues of Edessa should be administered, like those of Antioch, by oeconomi.
Ibas was "a second Judas," "an adversary of Christ," an "offshoot of Pharaoh." "To the fire with him and all his race." Two days later the inquiry began in the absence of Ibas amid violent interruptions.

In particular, the role of IBAs within the overall regulatory and benefits package is not well defined and it is not certain whether a failure to conclude agreements with some or all of the Aboriginal groups claiming an entitlement to benefits will result in project delay or even a refusal of government to issue approvals.
IBAs are intended, on their face, to establish a basis for the involvement of Aboriginal people in projects and, more generally, to provide them with opportunities to share in the benefits of industrial development occurring within their traditional territories.
First, if IBAs reflect an underlying entitlement of Aboriginal groups to direct benefits from projects, it is not clear why these groups should be asked to constrain their participation in the regulatory process as a condition for receiving those benefits.

However, Ibas protests that he did not approve Nestorius when that patriarch refused the title of Mother of God to Mary: he only blames the methods adopted by Cyril to procure the condemnation of Nestorius; this much he openly declares in his letter to Maris.
A hundred years later, the letter of Ibas to Maris was one of the famous "Three Chapters" condemned at the fifth ecumenical council (553), at the instigation of Justinian.
It is to be remarked that it was not the person of Ibas, but only his letter to Maris, that was condemned on this occasion.

IBAs are small but powerful arrangements between Aboriginal communities and developers that have been used increasingly to achieve greater self-determination.
IBAs were one of the major themes to emerge from that session, and participants expressed their desire for another forum in which to discuss the topic further.
IBAs continue to generate controversy despite a trend towards their increasing acceptance as the industry norm and notwithstanding that they have become a legal requirement in many areas where land claims have been settled.

 Important Bird Areas (IBAs)
IBAs are key sites for conservation — small enough to be conserved in their entirety and often already part of a protected-area network.
Ideally, each IBA should be large enough to support self-sustaining populations of as many as possible of the key bird species for which it was identified or, in the case of migrants, fulfil their requirements for the duration of their presence.
Since IBAs are identified, monitored and protected by national and local organisations and individuals, working on the ground, the IBA Programme can be a powerful way to build national institutional capacity and to set an effective conservation agenda: it is far more than a technical research exercise.

California’s IBA program began as a volunteer-driven effort in the mid 1990s, and was greatly expanded into a fully-funded research project in 2000.
Several IBAs were identified as having “critical” or “high” threat levels, meaning that a significant portion of their habitat was under immediate threat of modification due to human activity.
The National Park Service has requested IBA information to use in conservation planning efforts around the U.S., and the California Legacy Program is using the centroid coordinates of the IBAs as an overlay to develop statewide conservation strategies.

The aim of the IBA Program is to identify a network of sites (Important Bird Areas, or IBAs) in each state that are essential for sustaining naturally occurring populations of bird species, and to protect or manage these sites for the long-term conservation of birds, other wildlife, and their habitats.
Each state has gone about setting up an IBA Program in its own unique way, but the essential goals, methods, and outcomes are the same among states, as well as being consistent with those of national and international IBA Programs.
The IBA Program is the first of its kind to focus conservation on priority areas based on their importance for birds of any family or group.
