It also controversially integrated the Internet Explorer into the Windows GUI, prompting the opening of the Microsoft antitrust case, dealing with the question whether Microsoft was abusing its hold on the IBM_PC operating system market to push its products in other areas.
In 1999, Microsoft released Windows 98 Second Edition, whose most notable feature was the addition of Internet Connection Sharing (a brand name for a form of Network Address Translation), which allowed several machines on a LAN to share an internet connection.

The first 128 ASCII characters (decimal 0-127) in the two charts (Decimal and Hexadecimal) below, often referred to as "7-bit" coded characters (8 including parity check), were defined by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) in document X3.9-1978.
The next 128 characters (decimal 128-255), often referred to as "extended ASCII", "high-bit" or "high-order" characters, were defined by IBM and introduced with the release of their IBM/PC in 1981.
Here are some brief descriptions for the abbreviations listed next to the first 32 control codes as well as for the SP next to character 32.
