		IC4A Championship, as the UMass Men's track team competed in the Boston University Valentine Invitational.
		UMass Senior, Jon Korhonen, was one of the Minutemen to qualify for the IC4A Championships on Saturday with his performance in the Mile Run.
		The IC4A Championships will be held on Saturday and Sunday, Mar. 5 and 6 in Boston.

	Rhode Island track & field finishes 17th in IC4A ::
		"The IC4A is the oldest track and field conference in the United States, it takes in 115 schools from Ohio east to Virginia North, so it takes in everybody who's anybody in track and field," head coach John Copeland said.
		Since the IC4A championship is one of the qualifying events, only a certain few can actually compete in the event by the team members' performance throughout the year.

		Freshman Steven Huntzinger (Fairfax, VA) impressed for his first IC4A qualification with a third-place, personal-record effort of 51'11", while junior Nick Hecker-Thompson (Seattle, WA) took fifth with a throw of 46'11.75".
		The squad also had a solid effort in the hammer as Parsons earned another IC4A qualification with his second-place throw of 174'3" while Mitchell claimed third with a mark of 160'0", tieing his personal best.
		Complete results from the discus were not available at this time of this release, but Huntzinger won the event with an IC4A qualifying distance in the 154-foot range.

		He won his first athletics title in 1897, when he won the 220 y hurdles race at the (Click link for more info and facts about AAU) AAU championships.
		The next few years he gained many more titles, winning 5 AAU titles in both (A footrace in which contestant must negotiate a series of hurdles) hurdling and (A competition that involves jumping as far as possible from a running start) long jump events, and 8 IC4A titles in sprinting, hurdling and the long jump.
		Kraenzlein was especially noted for his hurdling technique, as he was the first to practice the now common method of taking a hurdle with a straight front leg.

		Freshman Matthew Lewis was the runner-up in the 500, but fell 0.71 seconds short of meeting the IC4A standard.
		Sophomore Robert Wingate-Robinson, who qualified for the IC4A Championship in the 400-meter dash last weekend at the Rutgers Invitational, timed 49.43 on Saturday to win the race for the second week in a row.

	Men's Track & Field 2004 - IC4A Championship
		New Haven, CT Derek Anderson became Northeastern's first ever double-winner at the IC4A Championship from Friday to Sunday at Yale University in New Haven, Conn. The Huskies placed ninth with 29 points.
		Anderson won his first IC4A outdoor title on Saturday when he won the discus with a throw of 176'10.
		He won the shot put at the IC4A Championship during the 2002-03 indoor season.

		N.Y. Seniors Andy Allstadt and Sheldon Gomes qualified for the IC4A Championships at the NYU Fastrack Invitational held on Friday, Jan. 25.
		Burns tied his own school record that was set one year ago, met the NCAA provisional-qualifying standard, and registered the eighth-best time in the nation this season.
		Senior Dale Hopkinson qualified for the IC4A Championships, to be held on March 5-6 at Boston University, with a third-place finish in the 55m hurdles in a time of 7.74 seconds.

		If a performance is challenged, it will the responsibility of the coach of the athlete that has been challenged to produce official results of that performance.
		We will continue the practice of allowing athletes that are “Conference Champions” to compete in the IC4A Championships, even if they have no made the Qualifying Standard.

	Sports -- Sixteen Runners Qualify for Postseason at RU
		Building upon the success of their three local opening meets, the Georgetown men’s and women’s track and field teams traveled to Piscataway, N.J. last weekend to compete at the Rutgers Invitational, where both teams continued to record post-season qualifying times.

		-- University of Massachusetts senior sprinter Kwesi Frimpong-Boateng (Accra, Ghana) captured the 100-meter dash title at the 127th IC4A men's outdoor track and field championships Sunday afternoon in Princeton, N.J. West Virginia won the team title with 48 points, while host-Princeton was second with 47 points.
		Frimpong-Boateng's IC4A 100 title followed gold medal performances at both the A-10 and New England championship meets.
		In the javelin, sophomore Mike Carr (Rehoboth, Mass.) placed 10th with a career-best throw of 203-4, a performance that ranks as the fourth-best in school history.

		Seniors Henry Harris (Cleveland Heights, OH/Essex CC) and Kevin Nishiyama (Warrington, PA/Central Bucks East) were both dual qualifiers for the IC4A Championships on Saturday.

		Freshman Alyce Williams (Palm Coast, FL/Flagler Palm Coast) qualified for the ECAC Championships in a team-high three events, finishing runner-up in both the 200 meters in 24.97 seconds and in the triple jump with a 39-foot, 5¾-inch performance.
