When iCal is open, its icon displays the current date.

If you have been using ical, you will want to delete your calendar in iCal on the Mac and create a new one to use with subscribe.
If you can get iCal to send a username and password, the web page will use them, but we provide an approach that is less likely to trigger iCal bugs: encode them in the URL.

Recently I posted about iCal and Address Book, and my suspicion that they were a couple of unsung heroes amongst the OS X-included apps.
iCal Birthday Shifter is another cool program - it imports all your Address Book birthdays to iCal to make you the hero of the family when you never miss a birthday.
While iCal with isynch integration with my bluetooth phone (Nokia 6600) has changed my life and made it much more organized, I am surprised that iCal is not better integrated with Address book.

I used the included import menu item to import my Entourage calendar, and iCal created a new calendar entitled "Entourage." One thing to be aware of is that it *may* take an hour or more to import your Entourage calendar if you have a lot of repeating events.

So, when I put iCal on today I wasn't as fazed by its sluggishness as others, but it is indeed similar to the pokiness of iPhoto (one reason I use iView Media Pro).
I can't agree iCal is slow, it does take several 'bounces' to open, about 2 seconds for me. Maybe as this is a small app we'd all expect it it be quicker.
Another thing i dislike about iCal is it's appearance, there is so few colours on the actual calendar it self, it can be a bit difficult to see things like today's date.

Hey, when I subscribed to the iCal feed, all the events show up as "all-day" events, instead of showing the actual times they occur.
In my Upcoming.org calendar in iCal on my computer, I see the events that I added, but I don't see the events that other people added, that I'm attending.

I have no need for a propietary calendar, however if iCal works as well on the PC as it does on the Mac, there is vast uses.
Mozilla Calendar works with the iCal standard, this is great for PC users’ ablilty to synch to.mac calendars or individual personal calendars.
If someone doesnt’ have iCal or Mozilla Calendar there is an HTML version of the Calendar hosted there also.
