		Fortunately, the IEEE 802.11 group became aware of the issues with WEP early on and on June 24 of this year the IEEE Standards Association approved an amendment to the original IEEE 802.11 specification that addresses these issues.
		Because IEEE 802.11i has more than one data-confidentiality protocol, IEEE 802.11i provides a way for the IEEE 802.11i client card and access point to negotiate which protocol to use during specific traffic circumstances and to discover any unknown security parameters.
		In the IEEE 802.11i specification, these exchanges are referred to as the 4-way handshake and the group key handshake.
