I’m thinking about ditching Coursework at IGCSE and switching to Paper 4, and I’d be interested to hear what others think of the idea.
Cynically I have always considered that CIE encourages teachers to offer the coursework option at IGCSE level to lighten their [CIE] marking burden as we [the teachers] end up marking the three pieces of coursework instead of the CIE markers.......but I am probably just being far too cynical in taking this view......

IGCSE papers are designed to be of exactly the same standard as home GCSE papers.
We have been promised that the setting of IGCSE grade boundaries will include comparability of standard of answers with GCSE (which will be graded first); there is an overlap of senior examining personnel.

Mr Daniel Waithaka, the manager at Elite School, explains that a student does not have to be a genius in mathematics or science to pass IGCSE.
The IGCSE examination is set at Cambridge University in the United Kingdom, flown to Kenya and kept under lock and key until June when candidates sit for it.
Mr Ezekiel Waithaka, a teacher and son of the manager, adds that it is very difficult for a student to fail in IGCSE as the students are taught to be more practical than theoretical.
