International Klein Blue - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
International Klein Blue (or IKB as it is known in art circles) was developed by French artist Yves Klein as part of his search for colors which best represented the concepts he wished to convey as an artist.
The secret of IKB's remarkable visual impact comes from its heavy reliance on Ultramarine, as well as Klein's often thick and textured application of paint to canvas.
IKB was developed by Klein and chemists to have the same color brightness and intensity of dry pigments, which it achieves by suspending dry pigment in a clear synthetic resin.

 Who was IKB
He grasped every chance which came his way, he put 100% of effort into all his projects, and yes, he made some mistakes along the way (some were very expensive!) But by taking risks, and being allowed to do so, he had fantastic triumphs too which we are still using today.
IKB was not interested in the simply practical, it had to have style and panaché; whether a major bridge or a humble station building – all had to be aesthetically pleasing.
IKB sought glory and fame – he found both in his lifetime and his place in the affections of the nation will live on.

Medical Immunology | Full text | NF-kB inhibitor blocks B cell development at two checkpoints
While the development of T-lymphocytes and myeloid cell lineages was not grossly affected by the transduced IkBα gene, a significant reduction in the number and percentage of B lineage cells was apparent in IkBα transduced chimeric mice.
IkBα expression decreased the percentage of pre-B and immature B cell subsets in the bone marrow and further impaired the development of follicular mature B cells and marginal zone B cells in the periphery.
In the IkBα transduced chimeras, decreased B cell numbers are also observed in the periphery, and to much greater extent than in the bone marrow (21% vs 55%, Figure 2A), indicating additional deficiency occurring after immature B cells have emigrated from the bone marrow.

BioCarta - Charting Pathways of Life
The activation of NF-kB is thought to be part of a stress response as it is activated by a variety of stimuli that include growth factors, cytokines, lymphokines, UV, pharmacological agents, and stress.
In its inactive form, NF-kB is sequestered in the cytoplasm, bound by members of the IkB family of inhibitor proteins, which include IkBa, IkBb, IkBg, and IkBe.
IkB proteins are phosphorylated by IkB kinase complex consisting of at least three proteins; IKK1/IKKa, IKK2/IKKb, and IKK3/IKKg.
