		INXS began under the name The Farriss Brothers but the band changed their name to INXS in 1979, just prior to the release of their self-titled debut album in 1980.
		However, he left INXS in 2003, only recording a song called I Get Up, released as a single (which charted in the top 100 on the Australian ARIAnet Singles Chart) in the same year, and it was used in the Rugby Union World Cup 2003.
		INXS returned to the news in 2004 when it was announced that a new reality television program titled Rock Star would feature a contest to find a new lead singer for the band.

	Rarebird's INXS Reviews
		The first two INXS albums (which were not released in the U.S. until 1984, after the band had achieved stateside recognition) and the last two albums with Hutchence are out of print.

		Of these The INXS Album Collection is quite good, but it puts a whole pile of stuff on one huge, graphics-intensive intro page, so be prepared for a wait.
		This, their first new album after a long quiet stretch that was punctuated only by a greatest hits compilation, is the best single example of everything that was good about INXS.

		I got it with every amount of skepticism known to man. I saw INXS in concert 4 times when Michael Hutchence was their lead man, and I feel in love with an Austrailian girl while I was in high school while listening to "Burn for You" over and over again.
		I saw INXS again 6 weeks before Michael Hutchence died, and I was convinced that one of the greatest bands of the 80's had gone away for good.
		This Dual Disk will make any INXS fan proud of Our Band and will make any INXS fan lucky enough to have a ticket to the sold out leg one of their Switched On Tour excited for the day they will hear JD Fortune say, "We are INXS!" INXS, we are lovin' it, lovin' it.

		INXS always had a good handle on more romantic type pop tracks, one that is a lot of fun is "Never Let You Go." It is incredibly infectious and groove ready.
		Still, the album may have grown on me, it isn't as instantly catchy as many of the earlier works, Listen Like Thieves or, one of my favorite albums, Welcome to Wherever You Are.
		This is a fun album, one that I would have no problem recommending to old school INXS fans, or anyone who likes well crafted pop.

		Following a year after Rhino's double-disc set Shine Like It Does, Rhino's The Best of INXS trumps the 1994 set Greatest Hits in the single-disc sweepstakes, but just barely.
		What dents this a bit is the lack of a logical, chronological sequencing, along with a few absent key tracks, such as "The Stairs." For most of the audience, these songs won't be consciously missed, yet it does suggest that this could have been assembled better than it was.
		The band would have been better-served by a straight chronological listing -- particularly because lousy tunes like "Taste It" arrive so early in the album -- but apart from that, this is en enjoyable overview, containing all the biggest hits on one disc.

	Rock Star: INXS - OverTheRhine.COM -- Orchard
		Damn that was fast...either the new guy had little to do with the writing of the album or they just work really really fast when they know there's a Christmas release deadline to make.
		It sounds enough like INXS to please the hardcore fans that are still left, but I don't think it's an album like Kick that will make all these kids who never heard of INXS before the reality show suddenly rush out and buy an INXS album.
		I don't think it's as strong a comeback album as Duran Duran's Astronaut (which is the obvious 80's comeback comparison), but it's definitely not an embarassment and should please fans, I think.

		And it's shame, but INXS was the kind've band you always thought would go out with a resounding bang, but they just didn't have it anymore.
		Hutchence in question mode delivers "where has our innocence gone" and assured confidence behind the heavy backbeat with "some will take and some are given" and an off- center, un-expected chorus from the rest of the lads with Farris using the crown of his cymbal to add funky icing on the cake.

		Switch, the first INXS studio album in eight years, raises as many questions as it answers.
		Still, INXS knew what they were doing given the anticipation for this album and its North American tour, which has sold out all over the place, including Toronto on Feb. 6 and 7 at Massey Hall.
