	Home - IoP: The Packaging Society
		The Institute of Packaging (IoP) which was the oldest and most distinguished institute for the packaging profession merged in April 2005 with the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3).
		As part of IOM3, the IoP is retaining much of its previous identity and all of its services and functions for the benefit of its members and the packaging industry in general.

	Glaucoma Service Foundation: Steroid Use and IOP Chat Highlights
		A small percent of patients will get a large rise in IOP, about a third will get a modest rise in IOP, and the rest will not get much of a rise unless the steroids are taken for a prolonged period, for example, six months or more.
		Response to steroids is considered a genetic marker for predisposition to open-angle glaucoma, so there are people on the on the verge of developing glaucoma for whom using steroids would push them into frank glaucoma.
		The gene that controls the response to steroids with an increase in IOP must be intimately associated with the genes that cause glaucoma.
