IRIB is based in northern Tehran, adjacent to Mellat Park, where almost all studios and offices are centered at.
The constitution further specifies that the director of the organization is chosen directly by the Supreme Leader for 5 years, and two representatives from The Judiciary, The President, and The Parliament, each, are to oversee the organization.
IRIB broadcasts four national channels, one international news channel, three satelite channels for international viewers, and one provincial channel per province.

The Council to Supervise the Performance of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) on Monday served a notice to the IRIB President Ali Larijani for what it called "inappropriate" remarks on a recent report by a Parliament special inspection commission, IRNA reported from Tehrran.
The council decided to issue the warning for the IRIB's coverage of news about the contents of the report, the reaction of the organization, and the positions adopted against the Parliament and the inspection team.
It stressed that the notice to the IRIB was for highlighting that part of Larijani's remarks about the report that included inappropriate remarks against the Parliament and the report.

Hojjatoleslam Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani's Election Headquarters here on Friday voiced objection to "objectives pursued" and "methods applied" in Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) election campaign.
In the communique issued by Rafsanjani's Election Headquarters, the policies pursued by IRIB Channel 2 are particularly criticized as being "biassed" and inclined towards certain candidates.
It adds, "The organizers of Channel 2's Dialogue program were expected to schedule clearly for holding regular panel discussions among experts they invite and to inform the candidates' elections headquarters well in advance."
