ISKCON is a society formed for practitioners of bhakti yoga, the yoga of devotion, as practiced within Gaudiya Vaishnavism.
ISKCON has assimilated Western cultural contexts as it maintains mandirs (temples) in many countries of the world, but still the ISKCON members vow to follow Gaudiya Vaisnava principles, including vegetarianism, and abstinence from gambling, alcohol, sex outside marriage, and intoxication.
ISKCON is managed by the Governing Body Commission created by Srila Prabhupada to handle affairs in his absence concerning the daily management and spiritual standards for the organization and its members.

The local governing authority of each ISKCON school or community is responsible to appoint two or three devotees to investigate and follow-up on all suspected or confirmed cases of child abuse.
The degree of segregation will be determined by the nature and severity of the offense; the attitude of the perpetrator; the feasibility of protecting the children from further abuse or intimidation; and the sentiments of the local devotees, especially the parents.
Should the GBC Body find a GBC man or other ISKCON manager responsible for suppressing or covering-up complaints of child abuse, or supporting intimidation of those who might complain, the GBC man shall be open to censure or probation, and the ISKCON manager shall be open to appropriate disciplinary action.

Many years ago Iskcon's GBC took an extremely offensive posture toward Prabhupada's beloved Godbrother, Srila B.R. Sridharadeva Goswami Maharaja, despite the fact that Prabhupada had suggested that they consult with him on matters of philosophy after his departure.
However, to my knowledge they have not contacted the devotees who were forced to leave Iskcon by their policy regarding Sridhara Maharaja's siksa and apologize to them, or to ask them to return to Iskcon.
Short of this, I have suggested several times that Iskcon acknowledge 'sister societies' such as the one I formed and work cooperatively with us for preaching and association.

Instead when one of the self-appointed ISKCON "guru's" sexual activities became too embarrassing for the GBC they officially banned him from taking new disciples, however, they did not ban him from the organization or notify any authorities of his crimes.
Personally I informed many ISKCON devotees and GBC members of the situation in Sydney, and of course they were all regularly visiting Sydney themselves, so everyone knew exactly what was going on.
So ISKCON is STILL enforcing the worship of child molesters and banning, bashing and blaspheming anyone who disagrees with this policy.

During the recent ISKCON temple openings in New Delhi and Bangalore, where newspaper reports frequently identified the grand temples as Hindu, the ISKCON press releases, such as that of April 15, 1998, never used the H word.
Faced with difficulties, ISKCON leaders have appealed to the Hindu community to back them up, as in a dispute over the Bhaktivedanta Manor in the UK or when being hassled by Christians in Russia and Poland.
In other legal cases, including one to the US Supreme Court, ISKCON has attempted to counteract the "cult" label by claiming to be a traditional Hindu lineage, and asked other Hindus to affirm this in the courts.
