ISO 7810 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
ISO 7810 is an international standard that defines three formats for identity or identification cards, ID-1, ID-2, and ID-3.
ISO 7813 defines additional characteristics of ID-1 plastic banking cards, for example a thickness of 0.76 mm and corners rounded with a radius of 3.18 mm.
ISO 7811 defines traditional techniques for recording data on ID-1 identification cards, namely embossed characters and several different magnetic recording formats.

ISO 14443 defines a proximity card used for identification that usually uses the standard credit card form factor defined by ISO 7810 ID-1.
ISO 14443 has two variants, Type A and Type B. Any reader that conforms to the ISO 14443 standard must be able to read both Type A and Type B cards.
On the card side however, ISO 14443 compliance is given if the card supports either Type A or Type B. Fully in line with ISO 14443 Type A and addressing customer requirements for secure, fast, proven and reliable transactions, the MIFARE interface platform has been widely implemented in contactless systems around the world.

Most credit cards are the same shape and size, as specified by the ISO 7810 standard.
A debit card is an ISO 7810 card which physically resembles a credit card, and, like a credit card, is used as an alternative to cash when making purchases.
The credit card may simply serve as a form of revolving credit, or it may become a complicated financial instrument with multiple balance segments each at a different interest rate, possibly with a single umbrella credit limit, or possibly with separate credit limits applicable to the various balance segments.

A4 paper format / International standard paper sizes
ISO 623 specifies the sizes of folders and files intended to receive either A4 sheets or simple folders (without back) that are not designed for any particular filing system or cabinet.
Note: It was proposed for an early draft of ISO 216 to recommended the special size 210 × 280 mm (a format sometimes called PA4) as an interim measure for countries that use 215 × 280 mm paper and have not yet adopted the ISO A series.
Based on the experience from the introduction of ISO paper formats in other industrialized countries at various points during the 20th century, it becomes clear that this process needs to be initiated by a political decision to move all government operation to the new paper format system.

 ICMA - Industry Information
According to the DIN ISO 7810 "Identification cards" standard, a minimum bond strength of 6N/cm is required during the T-peel test.
According to ISO 7816-1, a smart card should be fully functionable by 0°C to 50°C. Part of this examination was to subject the test samples to a one-month "ageing test" and to evaluate the peeling strength of the bonded test samples thereafter.
The results demonstrate in accordance with ISO 7816-1 that all examinations at room temperature as well as at 50°C were always successful.

The ISO test method document, 10373-1, Identification Cards – Test methods – Part 1: General Characteristics has been under periodic review, and is currently in final public review stage in preparation for publication.
As such, this seems to be an appropriate time to describe the planned changes in the 7810 opacity requirement and changes in the 10373-1 opacity test methods.
The new test method compares the electric current caused by infrared light passing through the card between the emitter and the sensor to the current created by at the sensor when there is the reference material between the emitter and the sensor, at each of the wavelengths, 860 and 950nm.

We are able to perform a few non ISO tests that investigate the durability aspect of a plastic token.
These non ISO tests, when performed in conjunction with the ISO delamination, ISO Table 1 (inherent magnetic stripe characteristics) and a few other ISO tests, will help qualify the durability/longevity of card stock.
This qualification becomes important if you want the card token to last until its planned expiration date, and even if expiration dates are intended to be extended, making your card products last longer.

RFID Journal - Using RFID to Manage Evacuations
The ActiveTag RFID tags, which are battery-powered and comply with the ISO 7810 ID-1 standard for access control cards, are more expensive than their passive counterparts, but the ActiveTag system enables reliable “hands-free” identification—the ability to identify personnel without the physical presentation of a credential, says Axcess CEO Allan Griebenow.
With ActiveTag RFID readers installed at building doorways, stairs or other exit points, the system would automatically identify personnel as they leave the building, and as they assemble at a disaster meeting or "mustering" point away from the facility, provided that they brought their tags with them.
The identification system will allow them to have the credential tag (an ID-size card with a battery-powered RFID tag) in a pocket, on their clothing or in a purse or briefcase and still be identified as they exit the building.
