ITV2 was also commonly used to refer to a proposed fourth television channel for the United Kingdom from the mid-1960s until the early 1980s.

 NationMaster.com - Encyclopedia: ITV2
The viewers, who were subscribers to NTL, claimed that ITV2 was not available to them, and that the NTL customer service operators were unable to say when it would be possible to receive it.
ITV2 explained to the ITC that until recently the promotions had indicated by means of logos at the top of the screen that the channel was available on Cable & Wireless, Telewest, Eurobell and Cable London.
The ITC accepted that ITV2 had acted in good faith, but noted that ITV2 was, at the time of the complaints, not available to any of NTL's existing subscribers, only to those who had previously subscribed to Cable & Wireless.

However, ITV2 is snapping at the heels of both these channels in the battle for advertiser-friendly 16- to 34-year-olds, with a 2.59% share - up 26% year-on-year.

Satellites TV - Why is ITV2 not free to view on Sky?
ITV2 is blocked now to people with a Sky Digibox and a free to view BBC card, and only available to someone with a Sky subscription of some sort.
Now given that ITV2 is being broadcast Free to Air and can be received on a Non Sky digibox, I consider the fact that it is blocked to Sky Digibox owners to be an anti-competitive practice.
Whether ITV choose to supply the ITV2 channel free to view is entirely down to them, as it will be in the case of many other would be digital platform TV channels.

 1965
If the ITA decided that the new ITV2 would not cover the entire country, any contractor in an uncovered area would continue until 1971, but those with an ITV2 service would end when it began in their area.
Finally, if ITV2 was not to start before 1970, the contracts would end in 1968 and all contractors would have to reapply for contracts with new boundaries and new conditions.
As we know, it was the latter option that was taken, but the instability this brought into the system was to have a detrimental effect on programming, especially after the 3 year contracts expired and the new boundaries were introduced.

Jack Osbourne - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Osbourne's new show, Jack Osbourne: Adrenaline Junkie is now airing on ITV2 in the UK, the Travel Channel in the United States, and on MuchMusic in Canada.
After he finished this for ITV2, he began doing spots on ITV saturday morning kid's T.V. in Holly and Stephen's Saturday Showdown (Ministry of Mayhem at one point).
This suggests that maybe he will be offered a job at ITV for either a presenters role (possibly a replacement for the Paul O'Grady Show) or as a regular presenter in the next series of Saturday morning shows, as his current appearances are only now and again.

If we didn't know better, we'd think ITV was only really interested in some cheap music footage to fill up the night-time hours in the coming year, and the live elements were chucked in to seal the deal and make the festival feel they were important.
Fair enough, she did a short spell on Top of the Pops, but the key word here is "short", and being asked to provide intelligent links on a semi-live music show was like asking a porpoise to lend a hand with plumbing on the grounds that it knows a bit about water.
Zoe - who, on form, can handle a live show with wit and aplomb - clearly decided that if Lisa S was the level of performance ITV2 wanted, then she'd be able to be just as useless as her.

Launched in December 1998, ITV2 was promised to be a showcase for repeats of some of the best programmes on ITV1, as well as having some exclusive new programmes.
Although the programme quality may not always be great, ITV2 did have a nice variety of idents, each using the phrase '2-something', with words floating around in the background.
Programme adverts for ITV2 were very similar to those of ITV1 pre-october 2002, only with a different DOG and endboard(although this one here doesnt use the proper ITV2 endboard).
