Ian is the son of Pete and Kathy Beale, the father of Lucy, Peter and Bobby Beale, the nephew of Pauline Fowler and cousin of Mark, Michelle and Martin.
Ian Beale has gone on to be one of the longest running characters in the soap's history, and after December 2006 he will be the only remaining original character left in the soap after Wendy Richard's departure.
Ian later thought he'd found a new love interest in barmaid Donna Ludlow, but was devastated to discover that she was actually his half-sister, using him to get closer to his mother Kathy, who at the age of fourteen, had put Donna up for adoption after she was conceived from rape.

I think with Jane she has no hidden agendas where Ian is concerned, she knows what he can be like and accepts him for who he is and it's is the same for Ian.

Ah yes, ian beale obviously goes to a class with the most talented sensei in the world of aikido, a few weeks after joining they are doing demos with ushiro-ryoto-tori attacks and jodan ski.
They have a power station and I was told that there is a spare unit that only kicks in at the time when advert break comes on in Eastenders as everyone in the valley puts their kettles on at the same time.

We're surprised the other residents of Walford don't run some kind of sweepstake on how long it'll take for Ian's latest fancy piece to have her head turned by the local bit of rough, because some people could be quids in if they put their minds to it.
