Ian Fraser was awarded his VC for his part in a midget submarine attack in the far East.
On 31 July 1945 in the Straits of Johor, Singapore, Lieutenant Fraser, in command of HM Midget Submarine XE-3, went to attack the Japanese heavy cruiser Takao, which was reached after a long and hazardous journey through mined waters.
Lieutenant Fraser slid the submarine under the target which lay over a depression in the sea bed, and his diver Acting Leading Seaman James Magennis went out to fix the limpet mines to the bottom of the ship.

Sir Ian Fraser, a British surgeon whose medical team took penicillin to the wounded on the battlefields of World War II and established that it effectively checked their blood infections, died May 11.
Fraser was a member of the Royal Army Medical Corps in West Africa in 1941 when it sent him to Algiers to direct tests of what was then a new and largely untested drug, penicillin.
Fraser's wife, Eleanor Mitchell Fraser, died in 1992.

Born in Belfast, Fraser was educated there at the Royal Academical Institution and Queen's University, becoming a consultant at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children in 1927.
Fraser volunteered in 1939 and served in the Royal Army Medical Corps (RAMC).
In 1942 he was recalled to head a team established under the control of the Medical Research Council and the RAMC to test the efficacy of the new drug penicillin in battlefield conditions.

Personally I thought that Ian Fraser might have held off on selling his shares until the supporters trust was formed and given them first refusal, we can only assume that he was offered a good price by someone he trusted as he would not have just sold them to anyone.
And we all know that Mr Fraser far from being financially strapped is wealthy and careful with his money, so careful is he that it has been rumoured he gets up in the middle of the night to see if he has lost any sleep.
John Fraser was not an easy man to work with but his investment was made for the benefit of the club and he deserves a big vote of thanks.
