Other documents situate the origin of Iancu's family in Romanian Country, witch can't be definitely ignored, taking acount the relations between Hateg Country and the sub-carpathians regions.The documents mention the military occupations of the family, his father, Voicu, being given the Hunedoara Castle and Domain in 1409.
Iancu of Hunedoara was, no doubt, one of the greatest personality of the 15th century history.

Iancu Corvin (Johannes Corvin de Hunyad or Iancu de Hunedoara) enlarged the construction existing in the XIV century; as a result of two succesive construction stages, a new precincts was developed, between 1441 - 1446, equipped with 7 protective towers - 4 circular ones and 3 rectangular ones.
Iancu de Hunedoara continued his father incursions against the Turks (Ottoman Empire) and had Vlad the Impaler as an ally.

While still a youth, the younger John Hunyadi entered the service of King Sigismund, who appreciated his qualities and borrowed money from him; he accompanied that monarch to Frankfurt in his quest for the imperial crown in 1410; took part in the Hussite Wars in 1420, and in 1437 drove the Turks from Semendria.
In 1448 he received a golden chain and the title of prince from Pope Nicholas V, and immediately afterwards resumed the war with the Turks.
Though he remained illiterate until late in life (something which was not as common in those times as one might think), his natural diplomatic, stragegic and tactical intelligence served him well and allowed him to serve his country well.

The castle in Hunedoara, originally a small royal citadel built sometimes in the 13th century, was given by Sigismund of Luxemburg to the local nobleman by the name of Vojk of the Corvinus (latin for raven) family for his deeds, in the 14th century.

Sectiunea I cu latimea de 1.5 m a fost trasata pe directia est-vest, deplasata spre nord în asa fel încât profilul ei sudic sa cada pe axul bisericii.
Postamentul primei mese a altarului, corespunzator fazei initiale de constructie a monumentului, a fost construit din pietre de râu de diferite dimensiuni, legate cu mortar si are latimea pe directia nord-sud de la 1 - 1.05 m.

I think that castle Hunedoara is very interesting but it has a very dark secret held by only those who died unfairly inside the castle at the hands of various insane inhabitants of the castle during the Dark Ages.

Matei Corvin (the son of Iancu de Hunedoara) had left Ţepeş alone in a really hard moment, when the Turcs’ army threatened the independence of the little Romanian state.
Even there are enough testimonies that are harmonized with Iancu de Hundedoara’s help, who just was defeated the Turks at Belgrad, his relations with Magyar crown and with the successor of the great anti-ottoman fighter remain contradictories.
But just 3 months later, at 16 December 1456, Ladislau de Hunedoara, Iancu’s son is complaining about the troubles, the dangers and the angers caused by Vlad, reason for which it was already preparing a claimant at Braşov.
